I received these locks quickly. Upon receiving I noticed neither had the lock washer I expected to help keep the nut in place once installed in my mailbox. I wrote the vendor and was offered a solution that was very acceptable.
The locks seem to be very well made and the price could not be beat!! I like that these locks have the tubular security keys so hopefully will a bit less easy to tamper with and I liked that when ordering both at the same time they are keyed alike so no fumbling with two different keys when going out to retrieve my mail from my mailbox. I would highly recommend this seller and would use them again without hesitation. My old mailbox lock was 25 years old, rusting, and sticking. So i removed it and compared it to the picture of this lock.
They looked similar enough and sure enough, when i received it and held them up side by side they were a good match. The cylinder face of this lock was slightly smaller than the original but everything that mattered was the same size. It took 10 seconds to install the new lock and i now have a mailbox lock that does not stick.
My only negative is that this lock is not as sturdy as the original and there is more play between the plug and the cylinder. And i would say this lock will last 5-10 years at most.
